POLSON – A four-year-old Mission Valley boy is recovering at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after prosecutors say he was found badly beaten and abused in a Ronan home.

Keith Michel Jr., 28, remains in custody in the Lake County jail where he’s being held on a $200,000 bond. He’s charged with sex assault on a minor after authorities rescued the boy last month.

Prosecutors say in newly released charging documents that the child was discovered with cuts, bruises and other visible wounds on his face and body. Investigators also say duct tape had been fastened to his genitals to stop him from urinating in bed.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell says his office is still investigating the case.
