A HEAT ADVISORY has been issued for northwest Montana for Friday afternoon.

These are the "dog days" of summer. A few wildfires have developed in western Montana. Larger fires in Washington, Oregon and California are contributing to the smoke in Big Sky Country. With even hotter temperatures on the way, the fire danger will increase. Thunderstorms will become more scarce but still stick around over the next few days and over the weekend. Temperatures will get progressively hotter, peaking on Sunday and Monday with highs in the 90s to low 100s. A cold front will bring a few thunderstorms late Monday. Tuesday will be a cooler but windy day. Another surge in heat is likely late next week.
Have a great day. Stay cool.
