Happy first day of summer! Today is the longest day of the year, and likely will be the coldest day of the week. The cold front and low-pressure system that brought various types of active weather to Montana yesterday is making for an uncommon start to summer.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for locations above 6000′.  This encompasses a large portion of the state, including the following counties in our viewing area: Judith Basin, Fergus, and Cascade. This also includes locations on the Northern Rocky Mountain Front. Winter weather will mainly affect travel over mountain passes and backcountry activities this weekend.

While conditions will slightly improve over the weekend, the chances for precipitation still remain for both Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will warm slightly each day, getting back to near-normal by next week.

Have a great weekend!
