Thursday was a beautiful day across most of the state with more sunshine than we’ve seen in quite some time.  Clouds have increased once again though, and Montana will stay unsettled to say the least through the holiday weekend.  However, there will be opportunities to be outside without getting wet and there will be periods of dry and sunny weather at times through the weekend.  Friday is getaway day, and there will be some showers and thunderstorms popping through the afternoon and evening.  Some sunshine will mix in there as well, especially early on in the day.  Highs will be in the 60s.  Saturday will start out with a period of sunshine, but more showers and thunderstorms will develop through the day across western and central Montana.  Highs will reach the 60s again.  Sunday will have the cloudiest, coolest and wettest weather with the best chance for mountain snow.  Areas off the Rocky Mountain Front and across northcentral Montana will have steady rain and the coolest temperatures.  Snow will fly down the Continental Divide through Sunday.  This day has “washout” potential with all day rain and cool temperatures.  The good news is this storm likely will clear through Memorial Day Monday, with a few showers and clouds early, but more sunshine as the day goes on.

Have a great day!
