A major spring storm continues to impact millions of Americans.  Severe thunderstorms and a blizzard are raging through the nation’s heartland.  From Minnesota to South Dakota and into Nebraska, blizzard conditions are forcing road to be closed and entire towns to shut down.  Montana has not been as stormy, but the weather remains very active to say the least.   A mix of sun, showers, snow and even thunder moved through western and central areas on Thursday.  Snow was locally heavy in the mountains, and a few snow squalls over the lower elevations were intense.  These rain/snow/thunder squalls will continue Thursday night and Friday.  Some showers will be light, while others will quickly reduce visibility.  Sun and an isolated thunderstorm will also mix in at times through Friday.  This weekend will be another “spring” weekend here in Montana.  Saturday will start out nice with some sun and warmer temperatures.  Through the afternoon, clouds and wind will increase ahead of the next storm.  A few isolated mountain showers are possible late Saturday evening, but the storm really hits on Sunday.  Wind, clouds, some sun, showers and mountain snow will move through the state making for a more unsettled day.  The active pattern will continue next week as well, with the potential for a larger storm later Monday into Tuesday.  Mixed rain and snow showers will be numerous Wednesday and Thursday.  But Friday…a big warmup is on the way with what could be picturesque spring weather heading into next weekend.

Have a great day.
