Montana’s Winter Marching Out Like a Lamb

It’s the last day of winter, but it has certainly felt like spring the last few days here.  High pressure has brought sunshine and warmer weather.  Afternoon temperatures yesterday briefly made it into the upper 30s, but once the sun went down temperatures quickly began to drop below freezing yet again. This pattern will continue the rest of this week.  With no cloud cover to act as a blanket, keeping in heat, we’ll see a melting and re-freezing cycle here for the first few days of Spring.

This weekend, the weather will become more active.  Rain will hit the Pacific Northwest on Saturday, potentially moving into Montana by Saturday afternoon.  Sunday and Monday, we’ll have continued rain and high-elevation snow, with chances of a rain/ snow mix on Monday.  While we haven’t seen any severe flooding yet this season, the additional moisture could push us further in that direction.

Have a great day!
