Happy March!  Not just record lows, but record cold high temperatures will be set.  Happy March!  This first weekend of March will go down in the record books.  Many places in the state will not get above 0 all weekend long, with temperatures averaging nearly 50 degrees colder than normal.  Incredible.  Although wind will not be exceptionally strong, wind chills will be dangerously cold for most of Montana, ranging between -20 and -50.  Please be careful outside as frostbite and hypothermia will be a concern all weekend into Monday.  After a little snow early in the weekend, arctic high pressure will make for sunny skies Sunday and Monday.  Temperatures will slowly moderate next week, but more snow is likely late in the week.  That will be more palatable with temperatures closer to normal.  Average highs for much of the state should be around 40.  There will be nothing “average” about this weekend’s weather.  Please be careful!
