Big Wind for Big Sky Country

Holy Cow!  Incredibly, wind gusts as high as 103mph have occurred recently in Montana.  Most of the state has had a very, very windy week.  However, some valley locations with inversions have had little to no wind.  Either way, the wind will finally die down for the start of the weekend but will increase again for Sunday.  All in all, the weekend weather will be quiet with partly cloudy skies and above average temperatures.  Some snow showers will fly in the mountains on Sunday, and new snow accumulation could top out at 2-3″ in the higher terrain along and west of the Continental Divide.  Monday, an area of low pressure will move through the state with some light snow that could coat the ground with a dusting up to 2″.  It’s not the biggest storm, but some snow will move through.  Highs will be colder in the 20s and 30s.  Another warmer airmass with temperatures in the 40s will move back by the middle of the week.

Have a great weekend.
