What a beautiful gray day here in Montana with some snow in the higher elevations.  We captured a rainbow on our Apgar Mountain cam.  Rain showers and thunderstorms were scattered over the lower elevations.  A large trough is moving through the Pacific Northwest and the northern Rockies.  This is not a fire-season ending storm, but it is helping to near its end.  Thursday will be another mostly cloudy and cool day.  Showers, thunderstorms and some snow above 7000′ will move through the state.  Rain and snow could fall on some fires still burning.  Friday will be a beautiful late summer day with sunshine yet cool highs in the 60s.  This weekend will be nicer at the start.  Saturday will be partly cloudy and warm with highs in the 70s.  Sunday will be mostly cloudy, cooler, with showers and higher elevation snow.  Not a lot of snow, but snow nonetheless at the end of summer.  Cooler weather will continue into early next week.

Have a great day!
