HELENA — The Walking Mall in Helena is a little quieter these days.
Looking through the window at Lasso the Moon, you can find Harry Bailey the bear, fixture of the popular toy store, wearing a mask and gloves due to the pandemic.
The store's doors may be closed, but that doesn’t mean toys are not being sold.
“With Easter coming up, and with the kids home from school, people are desperate for things their kids can do,” said Amy Barrett, owner of Lasso the Moon toy store.
With the Governor's stay at home order, it’s changed the way Montanans normally shop.
Barrett is trying to keep new toys in the hands of Montana children while obeying Governor Steve Bullock's stay at home order. She said, “We are trying to limit every aspect of exposure.”
Instead of seeing customers walk around the store, you can call in the order, or message Lasso the Moon’s Facebook page, like loyal customer, Chris Day.
“I messaged and said, 'here is how much money I have to spend, these are the items that I am looking for; can you put something together for me and let me know what it looks like?'” said Day.
When it comes to picking up orders, keeping with the social distancing theme, just give Amy a quick call, and she will have the bag ready for customers to pick up.
For those that are living inside Helena city limits, the store offers delivery.
