A FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Great Falls for an ice jam on the Missouri River.
A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect for the Rocky Mountain Front.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for the mountains along and west of the Continental Divide.
A HIGH WIND WARNING is in effect for the Rocky Mountain Front and areas to the east.

A storm continues to bring a variety of precipitation across the state with wind for everyone. If you plan on traveling today, watch out for icy spots in the lower elevations and heavy snow over the mountain passes. Even though rain may be falling, temperatures near the ground are close to the freezing point resulting in icy spots. The ground is frozen so even though the air temperature may be above freezing, the surface can be very slippery. New Year's Day will be an uncomfortable day to be outside with persistent wind with scattered showers of rain and snow across the state. Temperatures will be mild to ring in the new year. More widespread snow showers will spread across the state on Thursday with continued pesky wind. Friday will be windy and partly cloudy. Another cold front will move across the state on Saturday with a few scattered snow showers and more wind. Sunday will be partly cloudy and very windy. The weather to kick off 2020 will be active to say the least.
Happy New Year!
