CLANCY — Hope Center Ministries (HCM), a non-profit organization offering a residential recovery program to those with drug and alcohol addictions, is expanding capacity and services at their new women’s campus in Clancy, Montana. The new 13-acre campus, the nonprofit’s largest, includes 21,000 square feet across several connected buildings.

Based in Oklahoma, HCM is a faith-based organization with 23 locations worldwide.

The campus hosted an official grand opening Thursday, November 12, from noon to 2 p.m., beginning with a ribbon cutting in conjunction with the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce. Brief presentations and tours will followed the ribbon cutting.

According to Executive Director, Carolyn Belling, the facility opened in April 2020 and currently serves 14 women through an eight- to 12-month program.

The installation of an interior automatic fire sprinkler system and firewall, funded by the Gianforte Family Foundation and individual donors, will allow HCM to serve 34 women throughout the various campus buildings. Moreover, Belling says, “The new sprinkler system enhances safety for residents and staff and protects the property.”

Helena’s Mountain Family Fellowship, a church, helped raise money for the property and provided volunteers as well as church space. Belling says, “The community has been very supportive. The entire home was furnished through community donations.”

The campus includes separate areas for women in the various phases of their recovery process.

A conference room, offering kitchen and sound equipment, will be available for rent to outside groups for meetings and special events. Also, a separate structure at the edge of the property will be marketed as an Airbnb.

HCM chose Montana for their new location because of the environment.

The Montana environment is unique, Belling says, pointing to the nature and serenity of the campus. “The beauty of the house, in such a special setting, helps the women recover,” noting that Hope Center Ministries achieves high success and a low recidivism rate. “Sobriety is the end game, and a high percent of our men and women succeed.” She continues, “Freedom in a supportive environment works best.”

According to HCM, many women entering the program are homeless, and many are referred through the court system. The goal is to prepare residents for stable and sober assimilation back into society. “It’s a blessing getting to know the girls and see their transformation,” Belling says.

In addition to its Clancy campus for women, Hope Center Ministries is planning to open a men’s campus in Butte.
