BUTTE - A Spokane woman entered a not guilty plea Thursday morning in Butte District Court in connection with stabbing a Butte woman in September.

Shelley Kroum is charged with attempted deliberate homicide accused of stabbing a 39-year-old Butte woman in the chest outside her Jackson Street home the evening of Sept. 1, 2019. The victim survived the attack.

During Thursday’s hearing, District Judge Kurt Krueger remanded Kroum to jail on $75,000 bond.

Investigators said Kroum and the victim knew each other, and the attack appeared completely unprovoked and the motive is still unclear.
