VICTOR – Pioneer Log Homes builds cabins for people across America, but one project for a special organization in New York is especially unique.

The new 3,969 square foot building is being built for the Campfire Club of America, which is a conservation group that has members like Teddy Roosevelt.

Campfire Club of America is a conservation group based out of Chappaqua, New York.

The group was founded in 1897 to “Bring together men who subscribe to the principles of adventure and fellowship in the great outdoors, to share their experiences, and further the interests of hunting and conservation.”

Campfire Club then went on to help save the American Bison in Yellowstone and pushed for wildlife preservation in Glacier National Park.

Pioneer Log Homes will construct the cabin roof and Cupola Roof at their headquarters to make sure everything fits, then deconstruct the parts to ship to New York.

It’s a challenging project that seems like it would be a logistical nightmare, but Pioneer Log Homes might be the only company that can pull it off.

“Richard Bergmann designed this building and then brought it to Tom Beaudette, Beaudette Engineering in Missoula, who is one of the premier log and timber structural engineers in the country,” said Pioneer Log Homes Director of Sales Rob Ridgway. “Beaudette had a look at it and suggested that we might be able to be the only company in existence that can build this.”

Pioneer Log Homes is scheduled to have the project finished by the first half of November, and once the parts make it to New York it should only take about a week to put back together.
