HELENA — St. Peter’s Health hosted their first of two drive-thru flu clinics on October 17th, 2020.

The clinic was held at their Broadway Clinic. St. Pete had enough shots for 300 people and the resources to grab more, if needed. They also had high-dose flu shots available for those ages 65 and older.

Customers were encouraged to wear a mask and stay in the car as health professionals walked to their vehicle for their shot.

St. Pete estimated the drive through process took five minutes per vehicle with one-person.

The organizer of the drive thru flu clinic says this year is the best year to get the flu vaccine, if you’ve never had one.

“If you don't do it any other year, do it this year,” says Rhonda Hinrichs, a Practice Administrator. “Protect yourself and those people around you. A lot of people will say, 'well, I've never gotten the flu.' But, it's not always about you, yourself, it's about those people around you that may have a lessened immune system."

The next drive-thru flu clinic will be October 24th from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the same clinic.
