Nicknamed "The Ice Ribbon," the National Speed Skating Oval is the only new venue constructed in the original 2008 Olympic park in Beijing.
The stadium was built on the site of the field hockey venue, and has been purpose-built for long track speed skating.
It can accommodate up to 12,000 spectators at full capacity.
