LINCOLN — Pureview hosted another round of free COVID-19 tests, this time in Lincoln, Montana.
It is part of Pureview's surveillance testing to make sure no one asymptomatic, meaning showing no symptoms, has the coronavirus. Pureview CEO says small communities in Lincoln should also have access to these tests.
"It seems appropriate to come up and test the Lincoln community as well. Especially because they have a high influx of tourists who come from other states during the summer," says Jill Steeley, Pureview CEO.
Pureview says Lincoln tourism is the main reason testing is necessary in the community.
"You've got a big influx in population during the summer. So, no, they are not immune to it in small communities. They are seeing people coming in from other states that are hot spots and do have a lot of cases, and could easily be exposed anytime," says Steeley.
Pureview says they had enough tests for about 600 people. The next round of free COVID-19 tests in Lincoln is scheduled on August 12th, 2020.
Pureview states labs are overwhelmed with tests, as of July 15th, 2020. For that, test results will take 10-14 days. Pureview does admit 14 days is a long time with this virus.
Pureview will continue their surveillance testing in small communities. As of July 15th, 2020, they have scheduled testing sessions in Augusta, Lincoln, and Craig. On July 18th, 2020, Helena will have another round of COVID 19 tests.
