HELENA- A section of U.S. Highway 287 outside Three Forks will be named after a Broadwater County deputy killed in the line of duty.
Governor Steve Bullock signed House Bill 156 into law on Tuesday.
U.S. 287 at Mile Marker 109 will be named the Mason Moore Memorial Highway. Moore was killed in May of 2017.
A sign including Moore’s name, title, date of passing and badge number will be installed at mile marker 109, where Deputy Moore lost his life.

The bill unanimously passed the Montana House of Representatives. It passed the Montana Senate by a vote of 48 to two.
The man currently charged for Moore’s death, Lloyd Barrus, has been found unfit to stand trial.
