Video shows 2 cruise ships collide in Mexico, six people injured

Two cruise ships collided Friday morning in Cozumel, Mexico, leaving six people injured.

According to Carnival Cruise Lines, the Carnival Glory was maneuvering to dock in Cozumel when it made contact with Carnival Legend, which was already alongside.

Carnival Cruise Lines said one person suffered a minor injury on the Carnival Glory when a group of guests was evacuated from the dining room on Decks 3 and 4.

Video posted to social media shows the Carnival Glory suffered damage to its stern and starboard sides.

Carnival Cruise Lines says both ships are still seaworthy following the accident. Both ships will remain in Cozumel on Friday.

Scripps station WFTS reports that the Carnival Legend is based in Tampa, Florida. The ship was scheduled to return to Tampa on Sunday.

The Carnival Glory is reportedly based in New Orleans.

Carnival Glory had an allision with Carnival Legend this morning in Cozumel. Carnival Glory was in the process of docking when it made contact with Carnival Legend which was already docked.

We are assessing the damage but there are no issues that impact the seaworthiness of either ship. We have advised guests from both ships to enjoy their day ashore in Cozumel.

Since our initial assessment, six guests with minor injuries have presented themselves to the Carnival Glory medical center for evaluation.
