NOXON — The Hereford Bar and Grill in Noxon had opened in May of 2020 with new owners Peter Kobilansky and Kimberly Syth, but on Dec. 14 a fire broke out inside the restaurant.

Kobilansky says that the whole restaurant was a total loss, and the cabins surrounding the area suffered minor damage.

Syth says that they had fallen in love with the bar, and wanted to keep the restaurant a family-owned business.

Syth says that their children were all apart of the Hereford Bar, and losing the restaurant was a huge blow.

"It was totally unexpected, and I am still shocked by it," said Syth.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. "We want answers, and we never let the kids close the bar, and double-checked everything," said Syth.

The community of Noxon and other surrounding areas have reached out to try and help the two owners rebuild.

"We got displaced employees that is going to take some time, and there is no work in the area,"

Syth losing the bar is a big loss to the community, especially with how many people loved to come in for a bite to eat.

"When we opened up, we were received, and we couldn't keep up with the amount of people coming in," said Syth.

Kobilansky and Syth want to set up a fund for nine displaced employees, including three cooks, two dishwashers, and four waitresses.

"We are gonna rebuild as soon as we can, the thing is it's not the Hereford, but we are going to stay, we aren't going anywhere," said Syth.
