Montana State Fund offers PPE grant for frontline workers

HELENA — Montana State Fund (MSF) announced this week a personal protective equipment (PPE) grant program designed to assist COVID-19 high-risk and vulnerable frontline businesses and workers.

The program has a total of 100 infrared thermometers, 15,000 medical tri-fold masks and 15,000 KN95 masks for distribution.

“Montana State Fund prides itself on helping protect policyholders and their workers; this has never been more important than during this pandemic,” said MSF President and CEO, Laurence Hubbard. “We are eager to partner with Montana businesses and organizations in an effort to combat COVID-19. It is our belief that by doing so, they can safely provide essential services necessary to their communities.”

The grants are available for qualifying policyholders including: Firefighters, EMTs, Police, Physician Offices, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Grocery and Drug Stores, Social Services Organizations and Group Homes.

Hubbard added iit has always been MSF’s mission to make sure workers are able to leave and return home safely, these grants are another way to help do that.

“It’s in our mission and vision to partner with Montana businesses and their workers to create a safe environment for them,” said Hubbard. “That’s a part of who we are, it’s what we do. We will continue to invest in safety education, safety services for all of our customers and even non customers. We’re generally involved in safety education throughout Montana.”

Current MSF policy holders who qualify will receive a letter or email in the coming days explains the application process. The application deadline is 5:00pm on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 and is subject to change based on demand.
