One man died in a one-vehicle crash near Ronan on Sunday at around 5:50 p.m.
A Montana Highway Patrol dispatcher told MTN News that the vehicle involved was a 2005 Subaru Forester traveling north on Moiese Valley Road.
The driver lost control trying to negotiate a curve in the road. She over-corrected, sending the vehicle off the road. It overturned, and hit a tree.
One passenger, a 33 year old Florida man, was sitting in the front seat, and was thrown from the vehicle on impact. He died at the scene; his name has not yet been released.
The driver, a 34-year old woman from Ronan, and a 30-year old female passenger from Polson were injured in the crash.
They were taken to St. Luke Community Hospital for treatment; the nature and extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
According to the MHP, alcohol and speed may have been factors in the crash; none of the occupants were wearing seatbelts.
The MHP is continuing to investigate.
