MISSOULA — A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in Missoula early Saturday morning
The Missoula Police Department was called to reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian at South Avenue and 26th Street.
When officers arrived just after midnight, other parties were giving CPR to a woman in her 60s.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Missoula Police Sgt. Ben Slater said the driver has been identified and is cooperating with the investigation.
It was determined the driver was traveling eastbound on South Avenue and drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor, MPD spokesman Det. Sgt. Eddie McLean said Monday morning.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Missoula Police Detective Griesse at 406-552-6282.
The identity of the woman has not yet been released.
