There are no diagnosed cases in Montana, but in Helena, St. Peter’s Health is taking extra steps to prepare for a potential case of coronavirus in Montana.
According to the Chief Medical Officer, St. Pete's has activated its Incident Command.
The command is a group of medical professionals who have gathered to speak about preparing the hospital.
The hospital has also canceled all scheduled seminars and events.
They've also implemented more visitor restrictions to the hospital.
Each person entering the hospital will be screened to make sure they are “operations essential."
“COVID-19 will be in our community. We fully expect that eventually it will be here, but we do not expect to not be able to handle that. We have had time to prepare. If the community is truly protecting themselves, we really hope to limit the likelihood that this becomes a real issue for our community,” says Shelly Harkins, the Chief Medical Officer at St. Peter’s Health.
Some of the employees will possibly transition into remote work.
