HELENA — Safeway held a fundraiser Wednesday to help support the family of EMT Darylynne Day.
Day was killed back in August at a demolition derby in Deer Lodge.
One of the cars lost control injuring several spectators, and killing 36 year-old Day.
Safeway put on a benefit barbecue to support Day's family.
For $5, folks could grab a hot dog, a hamburger or some bbq ribs, chips and a drink.
Assistant store manager Eric Dowell says it's important to show support to all EMT's for the sacrifices they make.
"In that role, doing what they do, they need to know they are appreciated, and that they have the support of the people we have," Dowell said.
The benefit barbecue was held Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m.
