HELENA — Helena Girl Scout Troop #3264 decided to do something a little different with their cookie money this year.

The Scouts sold over 4,100 boxes of cookies, and decided to take some of that money to buy coats and gloves for kids in need at Jefferson Elementary School in Helena.

The girls were able to go to the store and pick out different-colored coats and gloves, and then deliver them to the school.

They're already planning to do another good deed next year with the cookie money they earn.

"So kids could have jackets for the winter so they could be warm. We should do something different, like buy something different, but what other people need, like we could give them food," one of the Scouts said.

Troop 3264 is one of the younger troops in the Helena area.

The girls leaders say they were blown away at how many boxes of cookies the girl had sold, and they're beyond proud!
