HELENA — On July 10, the Helena Chamber of Commerce put out a list of resources available to small businesses who might still be struggling during these times.
One of those resources was in regard to the Small Business Administration's Paycheck Protection Program loans. Small businesses that either didn't apply or had their request denied have until August 8 to apply for the PPP loan.
Another resource the Chamber chose to showcase was the Montana Loan Deferral Program. A program facilitated by Montana banks, credit unions, and lending institutions where small businesses around the state can free up a bit of capital that would otherwise be spent on loans.
Helena Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Cathy Burwell, said they compiled this list and sent it out to the members of the Helena Chamber of Commerce because she knows that some small businesses might be struggling during these times and wants them to know they're here to help.
"The Chamber has had to pivot quickly and really adapt to helping have our businesses, no matter what type of business they are, to survive this," said Burwell via Zoom. "This has been a huge impact to the businesses, and we definitely want to keep them informed."
The Chamber of Commerce also included Remote Working safety tips and information on the CARES Grant for Artists, all of which can be found here.
