HELENA — “Of course the camper is my absolute favorite,” says Lucy Davis.

Davis takes us through Montana’s unique sceneries through her illustration (pictured above). The local artist drew scenes from Yellowstone, Glacier, and animals from throughout the state.

"It's really exciting to have them all tie together,” says Davis, a freelance illustrator. “I'm a Children's Book Illustrator so I've always been drawing animals. To turn and make a large scene with animals just sort of fell into place."

After everything fell into place, the drawing turned to pieces, into a puzzle to spread, across the community, all messages related to the state.

"Lots of messages. Get outdoors, visit Montana. Go to see Glacier, Yellowstone, have fun with your family," says Lonna Weidemann.

Davis has partnered with Weidemann and her brand, “Camp On”, to take her illustration beyond the frame and give the community another activity in the pandemic.

"Today's world of COVID has kind of left us all where we don't have all these things to do. So, it's a great item to have with your family or just for yourself," says Weidemann.

"I am thrilled to have, not only have the artwork finished and to have a local business do my scanning and my preparation work for the artwork to go to print, and then actually assembled by friends in Maine, friends in Massachusetts, and all the friends of Montana and Helena that bought it. It is an absolutely amazing experience for me," says Davis.

Camp On says they have already sold their first round of 64 puzzles, many selling on the first day. They’ve purchased their second round.
