GREAT FALLS — The Great Falls Youth Orchestra is celebrating its 25th year with a free concert on Sunday, January 2, 2022. The concert will be at the Mansfield Theatre in the Great Falls Civic Center, and begins at 7 p.m.
The first Youth Orchestra began in 1997 and is looking to continue its longstanding tradition of bringing classical music to Great Falls.
While the event is set up for youth to showcase their skills, more than 15 alumni are looking to collaborate with the aspiring musicians.
Youth Orchestra Programs Manager Elizabeth Quinby said, "I think it's really exciting to see past members and current members come together and create music, especially with everything that we've dealt with the past couple of years."
While the event is focused on the youth performing music, the musicians hope this event has a positive impact on the community.
Great Falls Symphony executive director Hillary Shepherd said, "What we do at the symphony is all about bringing people together, and to enjoy the time that we have together and to enjoy beautiful music together. That's no different than any other symphony performance."

Norwegian Dance Numbers 2 & 3 by Grieg
Romany Dances by Elliot del Borgo
Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Franz Liszt (arr. by Owen Goldsmith)
Star Trek Through the Years (arr. by Calvin Custer)
Somewhere Out There from "An American Tail" by James Horner (arr. by Bob Lowden)
Jupiter-Bringer of Jollity from "The Planets" by Holst (arr. by Leidig)
