More than 70 firefighters are battling the70-acre Wood Lake fire west of Augusta.
Officials say they’re putting in maximum suppression effort to put this one out.
25 firefighters are on the ground directly fighting the blaze, and helping direct helicopters for water drops.
The Wood Lake fire was reported Monday morning. Fire officials say a lightning strike sparked it.
The fire is burning in steep, rugged terrain.
Wood Lake, the campground and picnic area are closed, and the Petty-Crown Trail Head and trail loop are closed due to fire activity.
