A total of 200 athletes will compete in equestrian in Tokyo: 75 riders in jumping, 60 riders in dressage and 65 riders in eventing. Each team may bring a minimum of three athletes and horses and a maximum of four athletes and horses.
The United States has teams qualified for team dressage, team jumping and team eventing and has also qualified riders for individual dressage, individual jumping and individual eventing.
The eventing team, which was revealed in May, is comprised of Phillip Dutton, Liz Halliday-Sharp and Boyd Martin. The riders for team dressage and team jumping, however, have yet to be announced.
The members of the U.S. Jumping Team at the FEI Jumping Nations Cup were Jessica Springsteen, Margie Engle, Laura Kraut, and Beezie Madden. The members of the U.S. Jumping Team at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games were Lizzy Chesson, Lucy Deslauriers, Alex Granato, Eve Jobs, Beezie Madden and Richard Spooner.
Members of the U.S. Dressage Team at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games were Laura Roberts, Nora Batchelder, Jennifer Baumert and Sarah Lockman.
