GREAT FALLS – The Montana Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help after arresting a person for drunk driving over the weekend.

Trooper Mike Jensen is asking for witnesses to the incident, which happened on the Frontage Road between Great Falls and Vaughn and then continued north to Dutton.

A witness reported seeing a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo with 38 county plates run at least eight or nine vehicles off the road to avoid being hit head on Sunday between 2:30 and 3 p.m.

Authorities did locate and arrest the driver for driving under the influence, but are now asking for any witnesses in the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact MHP Trooper Mike Jensen at 406-660-1118.

Jensen added a serious accident was avoided thanks to the witness, who followed the impaired driver from Great Falls into Teton County.
