Two Helena teenagers facing robbery and theft charges after Great Falls arrest

HELENA – New details have emerged on the two teenagers facing robbery and theft charges after being arrested in Great Falls earlier this week.

Dakota Hartzel and Jonathon Roberts, both 18 appeared in Lewis and Clark County Justice Court on Wednesday.

According to court documents, the victim was sitting in his vehicle at Barney Park around 4:00 Monday afternoon, when he was approached by two people he recognized as Hartzel and Roberts.

He told authorities the two men got into his car. That’s when Hartzel allegedly pulled out a gun and held it to the victim’s head.

The victim was ordered to hand over cash, his phone, and vaporizer.

The victim told investigators he knew the suspects from school.

During their investigation, police learned Hartzel and Roberts were headed to Great Falls.

Police found them and arrested them Monday evening.

Dakota Hartzel’s bond has been set at $50,000. Jonathan Roberts’ bond has been set at $40,000.
