Helena woman charged with attempted deliberate homicide

HELENA — Nicole Reann Woods of Helena appeared via video in Lewis & Clark County Justice Court on Friday for allegedly stabbing a man in the chest after a physical argument.

Woods, 26 years old, has been charged with felony attempted deliberate homicide.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance on Rodney Street Thursday night around 6:20 p.m.

Officer found a man with a knife wound just above the heart, which also punctured a lung.

Woods allegedly stabbed the man after he had slapped her.

According to court documents, Woods told police the man punched her a few nights prior and told the man if he ever hit her again she’d kill him. She added that after the man slapped her she wasn’t sure what else he might do.

Woods’ bond was set at $25,000 and a mental health evaluation has been ordered. She is scheduled to enter a plea on July 2.

The man was taken to a Great Falls hospital by air ambulance. He remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
