According to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map, Montana added 14 additional cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, June 14, 2020.
The new cases included one in Lewis and Clark County and one Cascade County.
Lewis and Clark Public Health said Saturday that the case involved a woman in her 60’s who was connected to other recent positive case in the county.
In Great Falls the Cascade City-County Health Dept. reported the new case occurred in a woman in her 50’s. Health officials say it is unknown how she contracted the virus. She has no know connections to any other Montana cases and there is no history of travel, suggesting it was acquired within the community.
Other counties with new reported cases on Sunday include: Big Horn, Custer, Flathead, Gallatin, Missoula and Ravalli
Sunday’s data raises the total number of cases in the state to 600 with 72 active cases. The state is reporting 601 cases because a case from May is attributed to Jefferson Co.
Jefferson Co. reported that the case involved a man in his 50’s who has not been in the state for several weeks. They added that the case was not acquired in Montana and the man has not been in contact with anyone in Montana.
Since Saturday, the state reported 903 new tests completed. That raised the total number of tests counted in the state to 50,907. According to data on the map, 509 people are considered recovered. Six people are currently hospitalized by the virus
Saturday also saw one new death in Montana. A man in his 80's from Big Horn County died from COVID-19. That brings the total number of fatal cases to 19 in Montana to date.
