HELENA — Starting on Feb. 23, all individuals in Phase 1B are eligible to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, said Lewis and Clark Public Health in a press release.
Phase 1B includes American Indians and other persons of color ages 16 years or older with or without a medical condition, people ages 16-69 years old with a high-risk medical condition, and anyone 70 years old or older.
Per the press release, "LCPH follows guidance from Montana DPHHS, which defines high-risk medical conditions as serious heart conditions such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies, cancer, chronic kidney disease (CKD), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), immunocompromised state from solid organ transplant, Down syndrome, sickle cell disease, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and severe obesity (those with a body mass index equal or greater than 40 kilograms/m2).
Individuals that plan on getting vaccinated must reside in Lewis and Clark County. Individuals that are a part of Phase 1A are still able to get their vaccine during this time as well.
LCPH will hold two first dose clinics on Feb. 23 and 24, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and individuals must get an appointment online starting on Feb. 19.
