East Helena mayor declares state of local disaster emergency

EAST HELENA — East Helena Mayor James Schell declared a State of Local Disaster Emergency Tuesday.

The declaration allows the city to activate its emergency response and recovery plans in the wake of the world wide coronavirus pandemic.

Under the declaration, law enforcement can enforce any quarantines and curfews and limits city meetings and actions to only those that essential and required by law.

All meetings of boards and commissions and scheduled public hearings are canceled until at least April 7th.
