According to the City of Helena, a black bear has been reported on the south side of town.
The bear was reportedly seen near Woodbridge Drive. Montana FWP and Helena Animal Control have been notified.
Residents are encouraged to make sure garbage is picked up and contained properly. People should also avoid leaving pet food loose outside.
Officials ask that people report any bears seen during the day or attempting to enter a building.
