HELENA -- After a month of receiving donated clothes, the Big Sky Fellowship has now opened its doors to the community for their annual clothing swap.
Karen Long, a covenant member of the church, said as a result of COVID-19 and more people having time to sift through their old clothes, the church received a monumental amount of donations.
Donations have been overwhelming. We're putting out new stuff all the time. We ran out of room to put it on the racks, or the tables," said Long. "We've had it stored in the back, and we're putting that out just as quickly as we can, and it's flying off the shelves."
Long said they put on this event to help out their local community and said the feedback they've received this year, and in years past, has been overwhelmingly positive.
"A lot of thanks and appreciation, and telling us that, it's a really good thing that we're doing. They really appreciate it," said Long. "We just do it to glorify God and to serve our community and to love on people."
The Clothing Swap will be open until 9 p.m. on July 16, and open for two more days on July 17 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on July 18 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
