Concerns and questions are endless as teachers prepare for an unprecedented school year.

Many educators are wondering how they can prepare for their students when things are changing so quickly.

In an effort to ease some of those concerns, educators at Hamilton School District have organized a special workshop this week to help them mentally prep for the coming school year.

The workshop, organized and led by Brightways Learning, will focus on educator self-care.

For teachers to effectively educate their students, they have to stay well themselves and feel confident despite all the uncertainty right now.

Throughout the day, educators will discuss their concerns for the upcoming year, and develop and strengthen their support systems.

School counselor Amy McDonald will help lead the program. She says focusing on teacher resiliency is key for those educators who are nervous about the school year.

"It’s a really kind of scary time," said McDonald. "They don't know how to prepare and so that constant state of flux is a really big deal for teachers right now and our kids need us to be ready for whatever comes down the pipe for them."

Brightways Learning will provide training to Drummond and Corvallis school districts as well.
