HELENA — The Troop 214 Helena Boy Scouts announced $5,000 worth of items have been stolen.
The event is believed to have taken place the night of November 19th, 2020. The scoutmaster of the troop says they discovered their storage sheds broken into the following day.
Many items that are used for scout trips were stolen such as snow shoes, tents, and other items.
The troop scoutmaster says they are going to persevere and continue their planned trips, despite the missing items.
The troop is also thanking the community for sharing the message around. Their announcement has over 50,000 views and has been shared over 700 times on Facebook.
“All the sentiments that have been posted, it really makes me feel good about the community I live in, that they do care, and they’re willing to share that with us, it does help,” says Doug Wheeler, the Scoutmaster of Troop 214.
The troop is not taking any donations at this time. They feel optimistic the items will return.
