GREAT FALLS – Two months ago, the Double Dream Team was preparing for nationals. Now, all three girls are national title holders.

Sixth grader Brie Srb placed first in her age division for the Female Single Rope Freestyle Event, with her fellow competitors placing second in their age division for the Female Single Rope Freestyle Pairs Event.

This summer, the girls continue to learn the ropes, but this time without the pressure of competition.

Incoming seventh graders Janica Clark and Ashlyn Jarrett aren’t sure whether they will return now that they’ve graduated from Valley View Elementary School and are headed to middle school.

But gold medalist Srb will definitely be back, and is practicing her speed jumping and double dutch in anticipation for next year’s competition.

“I like jump roping because like in wrestling you have to be strong, in basketball you have to be tall and fast, in football you have to be strong and fast. In jump roping, all you need is the ability to jump up and down and determination,” Srb said.

You can keep up with the jumpers’ journeys here.
