Grand Marshal chosen for Last Chance Stampede Parade

HELENA – The 2019 Stampede Parade committee announced that Helena native, Josh Erickson was chosen as this year’s Grand Marshal.

Josh has been a Last Chance Rodeo volunteer for the past 15 years.

Mike Gurnett, Rodeo chair said “As a volunteer, Josh has been and continues to be an important member of the Last Chance Rodeo production team. We know we can count on him to get the job done and he is a pleasure to work with.”

Josh has also been involved in the Helena Middle School Stick Rodeo as an instructor and mentor. He is a part of the Chute Boss Rodeo Schools Erickson Equine Activities.

Josh comes from a strong rodeo family who have contributed to the sport and who enjoy being involved together as a family. Both of Josh’s parents have competed in rodeo and his brother currently competes professionally. Josh’s mom, Janet, a barrel racer is a former Miss Rodeo Montana and Miss Rodeo America consideration.

“The contributions that Josh has made to the rodeo community and to Lewis & Clark County are greatly appreciated. We choose him for his contributions to rodeo and with a little bit of research, quickly discovered he has done so much more! It is without a doubt that we made the right choice for this year. His is so deserving of this recognition,” said Karen English, Parade Chair

The Stampede Parade which will take place on Saturday, July 27 in downtown Helena at noon.
