HELENA – Lewis and Clark County is asking for help in updating a list of people who can volunteer in an emergency.
Disaster and Emergency Services is looking for people who can help move livestock and house pets.
Fires and floods can put animals in danger, and oftentimes owners need help not only moving them, but also housing them.
People can also be put in danger if they refuse to evacuate because they don’t have a place for their animals.
Volunteers need to be able to provide the address where animals can be housed, the number and type of animals that can be house, and whether they can assist in rounding them up if needed.
