HELENA – Students at Bryant Elementary School got a first peek inside their new school today.
It was floor signing day at the new Bryant school.
Students came in – grade by grade – to the new gym to leave their mark before the gym floor is laid.
Principal Trish Klock says the school is triple the size of their current building and she’s thrilled for the experiences students will be having in the new facility come fall.
For the fifth graders who won’t be returning this fall, she’s excited they are getting the chance to be a part of this process.
“Really we wanted to make sure that all of our Bryant kiddos get to experience this new building,” says Klock. “So this is going to be really great for them to be able to walk in one day and say I signed under the gym floor right here and it’s a piece of my elementary school experience because I was able to sign the gym floor.”
After signing their names, the students were treated to popsicles by the construction workers on their way out the door.
Principal Klock says they have been boxing up non-essential items for weeks and will be out of the old building immediately following the last day of school, which is June 6th.
