HELENA – Lewis and Clark County says people could experience delays at the Motor Vehicle Department on Monday, May 13th.

County officials say the state is installing new computers at the office, and that will require some window closures.

Leaders suggest anyone needing services on Monday check the live webcam on the county’s site before visiting the motor vehicle division.

They also say if you need to renew your vehicle’s registration and it isn’t currently expired, it can be taken care of online or be dropped off in the secure box in the hall.

Along with the web cam, there are several other convenient ways to renew without standing in line. If your tags have not expired, renewals can be done online at

Additionally, renewals can be dropped in a lock box installed in the motor vehicle hall.

People can also schedule title work by calling the Lewis and Clark County Motor Vehicle Department at 406-447-8328.

The Department opens at 7:30 each morning to accommodate people who need to get to work.

Finally, LLC’s are encouraged to make an appointment in time allotted each week specifically for LLC title work. This frees up the motor vehicle windows for residents.
