Jim Darcy Elementary School holds student floor-signing

Posted

HELENA – Jim Darcy Elementary School students left their mark on their new school Friday afternoon.

Students had a chance to sign the cement floor of the gymnasium in the new school, ahead of the wood floor being laid down.

Not only was it a chance to leave their mark, it was also the first time the students have been inside the new building.

Principal Brian Cummings says that seeing their faces was the best part of the day.

“It was remarkable to watch the kids eyes as they walked in through the main office, through the cafeteria and into this vast space,” says Cummings. “I’m just really excited today. We’ve done all this hard work and we’ve had a lot of adults part of putting this building together, but really, it’s about the little ones coming in here today.”

Central School has already held its gym floor signing and Bryant students will sign their new gym floor sometime in the coming weeks.
