MSU Billings graduates celebrate at Metra

BILLINGS – MSU Billings started the morning with its 92nd annual commencement on Saturday.

Graduates gathered in MetraPark Rimrock Auto Arena to receive their degrees in front of family and friends.

Laurel American Legion Post 123, served as the color guard and the MSUB University Choir sang the National Anthem.

Before the ceremony, Q2 talked with graduates who are excited about today and for their future.

“Three years work, four years work so it’s very exciting and exciting what I’m going to do after this,” said Maimaitiyiti Maierdan, a student from China who graduated with a Bachelors in marketing.

“A pedestal to kind of take off and start with the next chapter of your life,” said Hannah Drinkwalter who is from Great Falls and received her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.

“It’s really special for our peers and our families and everybody that’s here to celebrate it with us and all the hard work put into this day,” said Terra Chesarek, who received a Bachelors in Psychiatric Rehabilitation.

“It’s pretty cool,” said Sam Zook, a sprinter with the track team who received a Bachelors in Management. “Lots of friends and family here. A lot of my family came up from Wyoming. I’m from Casper, so they came up to visit and it’s just nice having everybody here.”

MSUB graduated 764 students.
