HELENA – Helena is one of two Montana airports that will temporarily host TSA-PRE enrollment centers next month.

The temporary enrollment center will be held May 20th through May 24th at Helena Regional Airport.

It will offer residents the chance to enroll in the TSA-PreCheck program, which is an expedited security screening program.

The cost is $85 and it lasts for five years.

Airport Director Jeff Wadekamper says once the enrolling period ends they will begin offering TSA-PRE convenience to travelers departing Helena.

“At the conclusion of this event, after the enrollment session – then we’ll actually have TSA-PreCheck here in Helena, as well,” says Wadekamper. “So that will be a great benefit, particularly in the morning when it’s the busiest time. The morning push is usually the more hectic time here, so that will be good for passengers in the Helena area.”

The temporary enrollment center will be open Monday, May 20 through Friday, May 24 on the second floor of Helena Regional Airport.

The hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Friday, the center will be open 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.

Appointments are not required, but Wadekamper recommends making one.

Wadekamper says so far this year, Helena Regional Airport has seen a 10% growth in passenger traffic. That marks four straight years of growth.
