According to the U.S Geological Survey (USGS), two earthquakes struck near Lima within minutes of each other Tuesday.
At 12:08 p.m., the USGS reports a 4.4-magnitude quake with a depth of 10.1 km (about 6.28 miles) struck about 3.7 miles northeast of Lima.
Minutes later, at 12:11 p.m., a 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck approximately 6.84 miles (11 km) northeast of the town.
The USGS reports the quake occurred at a depth of 10.3 km, or approximately 6.4 miles.
